
James (Jay) Heagerty Jr., CCIM
Jay Heagerty, CCIM is a veteran commercial real estate broker/developer and a Florida native. Born in Sarasota, he has been a Manatee County resident for over 50 years.
Mr. Heagerty's commercial practice focuses on the sale and leasing of office, retail, industrial and medical properties in addition to the sale of vacant land. He continues to work both as a tenant and landlord representative. He has completed several sale-leaseback, build to suit and ground lease transactions during his 30 years in the commercial real estate field. He has sold close to 100 million dollars worth of raw land during his career.
Mr. Heagerty is an expert in the self-storage business and has been involved as an investor in a local storage company for over 25 years. He has recently completed a 49,000 square foot Xpress Storage facility located at 1102 53rd Ave in Bradenton. Additionally, he is the managing member of a portfolio of commercial properties.
Mr Heagerty is a CCIM. A CCIM is a recognized expert in the disciplines of commercial/investment real estate. Only six percent of the estimated 150,000 commercial practitioners nationwide hold this highly respected designation. CCIM stands for Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).
Currently past Chairman of the Manatee County Housing Finance Authority where Mr. Heagerty has served on the board for 27 years. He also served on the Bradenton Downtown Development Authority from 2000 to 2005.
Mr. Heagerty enjoys boating, golf, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He's been married to Deborah for 25 years and they have triplet teenagers, Joey, Hailey and Jimmy.
